Software for Sonic & Ecoacoustic Research[edit]

Background and Prior Art

Information on computer software for sonic & ecoacoustic research should be reviewed and referenced from the following links:. digital audio, general audio editing software, comparison of digital audio editors, digital audio workstations, open source software for audio and list of bioacoustic software

Ecoacoustic Recording[edit]

We recommend the following audio editing software for studio and field editing Audacity 2.1.3 for more extensive edits and sample clean up we are utilizing Adobe Audition

Ecoacoustic Analysis & Characterization[edit]

We are in the process of developing ecoacoustic analysis & characterization software tools authorized and shared from the Cycling 74 Max 7 programming environment. We are customizing Project ECAT software tools from multiple Max packages for investigating auralization, impulse response sampling and deconvolution and convolution reverb processing these include:the HOA Tool Library from CICM/Centre de recherche Informatique et Création Musicale, and the [Centre de recherche Informatique et Création Musicale HISSTools Impulse Response Toolbox]from the University of Huddersfield Repository. We are also investigating the use of ambisonic spaces using the ICST Max Package for Ambisonic research from the Institute of Computer MUsic and Sound Technology UnIversity of Zurich

Sonification tools[edit]

Our current sonification toolset is being developed as a custom build using Cycling 74 Max 7.
